Spain is renowned for the traditional fiestas. Usually all
entertainment is free. Events not to be missed in the main square of Mijas Pueblo are:

EVERY WEDNESDAY AT NOON - Free flamenco show with a free taste of Malaga sweet wine.
CARNIVAL TIME IN FEBRUARY - Famous for it’s elaborate
costumes and excitement with masks & fancy dress drawing
visitors throughout the region.
SPECTACULAR RELIGIOUS EASTER PROCESSIONS (The
processions take place during the week leading up to Easter
Sunday. The parades start at the local church and slowly go pass through
the streets of the village, an amazing and moving sight with
their lifelike statues of Christ on the Cross and his
mother, the Virgin Mary mourning.
INTERNATIONAL DAY – (SPRING) Where all different
nationalities come together to celebrate the typical
recipes, arts and crafts & performances of their country of
origin for all to taste and experience all day - to the
early hours – Phew!
CELTIC NIGHT ( JULY or AUGUST) - This event started last year and
was such a success that the Town Hall has decided to make it
an annual event. A truly Celtic environment with
international bands and fare.
LATIN EVENING (JULY or AUGUST)- Experience the exciting Latin
rhythms with food, music and dancing from South America!
FERIA DE MIJAS (6-12 SEPTEMBER)- This is the annual
party. Fairground rides and lots of entertainment all night
long. Don’t book in the centre of the Village if you don’t
want to party!
THREE KINGS – (EVENING OF THE 5 JANUARY). The story is
told that the three kings of Orient bring their presents to
the children on the eve of the 5th January. There
is also a procession through the village with the `Three
kings of the Orient´ scattering sweeties to the children.
